Completing guided questions for an uncontested divorce

The four steps

1. Answer the first questions

Start with a short set of questions so we can see whether an uncontested divorce is the right fit.

2. We prepare the documents

If you move forward, the documents are built from attorney-reviewed templates developed with Scheveck & Salminen Law Firm, PLLC.

3.  Review and sign

You see previews of the documents as you go. Both spouses review the final versions. When you are ready, the documents are signed with a remote notary.

4.  The firm files

Scheveck & Salminen Law Firm, PLLC files the case and covers the court filing fee. 

A hearing is needed only if the court requires one.

What to know before you start

A few practical points.

  • Both spouses have to agree on the main terms

  • Only one spouse needs to meet Montana residency requirements

  • We represent only the spouse who hires the service

  • The firm files; you do not file the case yourself

  • Timing depends on how quickly both spouses answer and sign, then on the court
